Mardi Himal Trekking.

A trek to the Mardi Himal takes you into one of the most unexplored areas of the Himalayas. There are few villages and most of this trek is in wilderness that reaches the high altitudes with breath-taking views of Machhapuchhre, also known as Fishtail Mountain, one of Nepal's best kept trekking secrets situated at the southern most point of the Annapurna massif. This majestic grouping of mountains includes five out of the twelve highest mountains in the world. All this awaits you on this journey. Annapurna South seems near enough to throw a rock at and Fishtail Mountain close enough to touch. Upon reaching 5,000 meters the great ice fields and blue glaciers of the sanctuary wall lie below. Views from here are almost incomparable, which make Mardi Himal one of the favorite trekking destinations.Mardi Himal is our access route and is the name given to the long rising ridge and its crest that forms the southwesterly lower slope of Mount Machhapuchare. Ours is a 7 day expedition climbing through the forests to above the tree line and on up to our high altitude camp at 4100m (13600 ft.). We establish this "High Camp" with a view to climbing up towards the knoll of Mardi Himal 5500m (18500 ft) from which vantage point there are the most amazing close-quarter views of all.
